Characteristics of the course of study

Decorating living spaces, houses, shops, public environments, methods and techniques comparison.
The Decoration - Artistic course provides students with methods to work in decorative arts, knowing different materials and artistic techniques. Since the general scope is that of the visual arts, the educational path intersects with Interior Design, Painting, and Sculpture courses. The goal is to allow complete cultural and technical training, which enables the student to learn more possible techniques that become a personal figure to recognize their academic career and that of a future artist. Knowledge of materials and techniques will be accompanied by the design methodology that allows all visual representation tools: drawing practice to 3D CAD.

Course Goals

The Decoration course aims to ensure skills and knowledge intended to train professional figures operating in the field of decoration, based on the mastery of methods, materials, and artistic techniques, as well as on adequate knowledge and good practice of design methodologies concerning the coherent and updated use the tools of visual representation, ornamentation and decorative intervention in public (hospitals, parks, squares, etc.) and private contexts (rooms for young people, clubs, gyms and wellness centers, etc.). To this end, skills are developed in the creative use of materials for artistic practice, technical tools of survey and architectural drawing, and visual representation, with specific reference to the aesthetic management of space and the design of environments.

The graduate in Decoration (Artistic Decoration curriculum) will be able to apply their skills (also as freelancers) in many sectors such as construction, exhibition spaces, residential use. The artistic decorator trained in the Accademia Santa Giulia will have excellent technical bases and an awareness of his style.
