Characteristics of the course of study

Technique and experimentation, innovation and individual research.
The course offers training that explores the world of Sculpture through the use of different materials and modeling techniques. During the three-year period the student deepens both the method relating to the two-dimensionality of the canvas and that of the manipulation of the material. For this reason the first two years are shared with the painting course. This sharing makes it possible to make the student more aware of the artistic bases useful to investigate his own personal path and acquire the necessary mastery to become a more aware artist. During the third year of studies, the course will also be dedicated to digital 3D modeling which allows the contemporary sculptor to carry out the design phase more effectively and quickly.

Course Goals

The Sculpture course aims to ensure artistic skills and knowledge aimed at managing the expressive devices that are the basis of sculptural art (terra cotta, plaster, marble, wood, iron and ceramic), taking into account the pluralism of languages and innovations in techniques and of the experimentation needs that the student will want to develop in order to structure his own individual research. Thanks also to direct interaction with the exponents of the "art system" linked to the territory and to the SantaGiulia Academy, the graduate will be able to participate in research projects and exhibitions in the sectors of public art and visual arts and thus acquire basic skills that can be spent on a professional level to start managing public and private clients.

The professional profile coming out of the Sculpture Course is that of a visual artist master of the techniques of sculptural expression and able to get in touch with the dynamics of the art system and market. The Sculptor will be able to work in the world of visual arts in the public or private sphere or as a freelancer.
