The exhibition "Suburbs: a study about" told in a virtual tour

Saturday, 2020 June 27^th, from 9.30 am, the event "Suburbs: a study about" will be available online on Google Meet platform.

The event consist in a virtual tour, open to the public, that will illustrate, first in English and then in Italian language, the exhibition "Suburbs: a study about", originally created in 2019 October at Palazzo Martinengo Cesaresco in Brescia.
Curated by teachers Paolo Sacchini and Massimo Tantardini, the project saw the active participation of five Academic and University realities - some Erasmus+ partners in Europe and the Silpakorn University of Bangkok, Thayland - with the production and presentation of over 150 works made by students with different techniques, including photographs, videos, graphics, drawings and visual works.

The virtual tour constitutes the final stage of the annual course of Didactics of artistic languages, conducted by Professor Paolo Sacchini and attended by students of the 3^rd year of the School of Didactics of Art for Museums. The aim of the course is to provide students with all the theoretical and practical skills necessary to conceive, build and conduct a guided visit to any museum collection, temporary exhibition or historic building in complete autonomy: in the contingency of this academic year, students have been called to organize a virtual visit without the presence of a physical place and public presence, experiencing an undoubtedly original way of conducting a guided tour and at the same time seizing the training opportunity.

At the end of the English tour, with the international partners of the project who will be present at the event, there will be a discussion with a topic "A look at the world" which opens up to new research developments for the next academic year.

There will also be a moment dedicated to the awarding of the participants in the "Through the window" intergenerational photographic contest with the winners of the three categories: Students of the world, Students of SantaGiulia Fine Arts Academy and Senior (over 65 y.o.).
The Contest was born during the lock-down period from some reflections that link the visions of the suburbs to those from the windows of our houses which for a long time have been the only visions that can be shared with the world.
